We had an amazing experience with Andy during our one-day private ski lesson in Niseko, Hokkaido last December! As a family with two kids aged 9 and 15, we were honestly quite nervous at first since it was our first proper ski experience together. Andy was incredibly patient, encouraging, and friendly throughout the entire session. Even when the kids felt like giving up halfway, he kept motivating them and made the lesson fun and enjoyable for all of us. His teaching style was easy to follow and very reassuring, especially for beginners like us. By the end of the lesson, we adults and kids were confidently taking the lift up the slopes and skiing down successfully — something we didn’t expect to achieve in just one day! It became one of the highlights of our Hokkaido trip. Highly recommend Andy to anyone looking for private ski lessons in Niseko, especially families with kids or complete beginners. Thank you for making our first skiing experience such a memorable one!

I took an intermediate snowboard lesson with Andy during my first time snowboarding in Niseko, and it was hands down one of the best decisions I made on this trip. Andy is incredibly knowledgeable, explains things in a way that actually clicks and sticks, and somehow makes learning feel effortless and fun at the same time. He didn’t just teach technique. He also acted as an amazing guide to the mountain, showing me where to ride based on conditions and skill level. On top of that, he knows all the best spots to eat, which was such a bonus when you’re new to the area. If you’re snowboarding in Niseko and want to improve while genuinely enjoying yourself, Andy is the instructor you want. I learned so much in one session and left feeling way more confident. Couldn’t recommend him more!

Andy is very experienced, knowledgable and friendly. He will tell us in theory as well as guiding us how to be confident in linking turns. Andy brought us to different places in Hirafu and Hanazono for us to feel comfortable with different slopes! overall, I would recommend him to my family and friends. I have tried many instructors and he is one of the best one! thank you Andy, I hope to see you again!

I had an exceptional experience training with Andy and recommend him with complete confidence. From the very first session, it was clear that he is not only an extremely skilled snowboarder, but also an outstanding instructor who truly understands how to teach. Andy is patient, encouraging, and incredibly observant. He quickly identified areas where I needed improvement and explained techniques in a way that was easy to understand and immediately actionable. Being able to receive instruction in Spanish made a significant difference for me, and Andy’s ability to teach fluently in multiple languages ensured that communication was always clear, precise, and effective. His ability to break down complex movements into simple, practical steps made a huge difference in my confidence and progression on the mountain. What really sets Andy apart is his genuine passion for snowboarding and for helping his students succeed. He creates a relaxed, supportive environment while still pushing you just enough to improve rapidly and safely. I made more progress with Andy in a short time than I had in years on my own. If you’re looking for a snowboard instructor who is professional, knowledgeable, and truly invested in your development, Andy is the person you want. I wouldn’t hesitate to train with him again and recommend him to riders of any level.
