Located between Hanazono 2 and Holiday Run, Gate 9 offers short freeride laps through spaced trees and mellow terrain features with quick access from the resort. The zone combines playful riding with more technical lower sections where creek crossings and terrain hazards require careful line choice.

Terrain features

Spaced trees, smooth fall-line flow, wind-blown powder pockets, and natural rollers that build speed through the descent. Lower sections funnel into creek terrain with irregular transitions, including a small waterfall drop that becomes a significant hazard during early season or deep storm cycles.

Expert tips

Choose your creek crossing carefully. Crossing early keeps the exit short and manageable, while pushing farther down the drainage gives you a longer run but makes the exit progressively more demanding.

how to get in/out

Access begins just above and slightly skier’s left of the Hanazono #2 top station, around 30 meters along the route toward Holiday Run. After crossing the river, a short traverse returns toward Holiday Run, while continuing too low may require a hike back out.
