gate overview

Located beside the base of the Wonderland Chair, this gate provides direct access to the main sidecountry terrain of Niseko Village. The zone combines long fall-line descents, reliable storm snow, and varied natural terrain features with minimal flat sections, making it one of the best areas in Niseko for continuous freeride laps.

Terrain features

Open alpine bowls, tree glades, wind lips, natural half-pipes, and large cornices create varied freeride terrain throughout the descent. Partial shelter from surrounding trees helps preserve snow quality while maintaining smooth fall-line flow and scenic open terrain beneath the gondola.

Expert tips

Carry full avalanche gear. Arrive early, as the terrain is strongly affected by sun exposure and can change quickly throughout the day. It performs best on overcast days after a storm, when the snow stays colder and the conditions remain more consistent.

how to get in/out

Accessed from the top of the Niseko Village Gondola by skiing to the Wonderland Chair base and following the short uphill cat-track to the Gate 11 entrance. The terrain naturally funnels back onto the lower Niseko Village runs, returning directly to the resort.
