WHERE WE COME FROM
Niseko Gates was created after years of riding, teaching and exploring the mountains around Niseko.
What began as personal experience on the mountain gradually evolved into a project focused on making gate access, safety information and local knowledge easier to understand. While built from first-hand experience, many of the lessons behind Niseko Gates were learned alongside friends, fellow riders and mountain professionals over countless winters in the mountains, complemented by experiences from different snowpacks, mountain environments and riding communities around the world.
Today, the goal remains simple: help visitors access reliable information and explore Niseko with greater confidence, awareness and respect for the terrain.

WHAT SHAPED THE PROJECT

WHY WE BUILT NISEKO GATES
Over time, we realised that valuable information about Niseko’s gate system, mountain safety and local terrain was often spread across different websites, reports and resources.
For many visitors, understanding where to find reliable information could be confusing. Important information existed, but it was not always easy to access, understand or connect together.
Niseko Gates was created to bring that knowledge into one practical and accessible place.
We do not claim ownership of everything we share. Our role is to organise, refine and centralise information from local experience, educational resources, public reports and trusted mountain organisations so it can be accessed quickly and understood easily
